China-South Korea trade turned surplus with China for the first time in May

According to South Korean customs statistics, in May this year, South Korea's exports to China totaled 13.4 billion US dollars and imports were 14.9 billion US dollars.

According to the analysis of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), the export of semiconductor products, which account for about one-sixth of China's total exports to South Korea, surged by 40.9% in the month, which has a greater impact on the reversal of the trade pattern.

According to Korean media analysis, China's chip design industry has made great progress and has a strong cost advantage in low-end and mid-end semiconductor products. Korean experts even call it "human sea tactics".

Korean media also pointed out that Chinese companies have strong competitiveness in emerging sensors and artificial intelligence chips, and domestic universities have also made considerable efforts to cultivate talents in related fields, which will further consolidate this advantage in the future.
